Outlined below is our accommodation access statement

We have three wheelchair accessible bungalows with covered porches:

Car parking directly outside to 1:12 ramp access with handrails. All internal doors are 2’9” (840mm) and the windows are lowered so that our guests can see out. No steps, all level, and all have smooth carpets. Sockets and rocker light switches are approx. 3'11" (1200mm) above floor level. Oven controls are on front just below hob level. There are no meters for gas or electricity. We have bed-guards and bed-blocks available for some of the beds, a wheeled shower chair/commode with removable arms, and a freestanding toilet frame, plus chair-blocks and a ‘percher’ chair available for guests to use. We have a small battery powered hydraulic hoist available (20 stones max weight), please bring your own sling. (a donation towards servicing would be much appreciated.).
We have a Radar Blue Badge Toilets Key available on request.
Games room is accessible, 2’6” (762mm) door, pool, table tennis and darts.
A ‘wheelchair accessible places to visit’ brochure recommended and compiled by our guests is available for use during your stay.

Wren’s Nest - 2 Bedroom Cottage

This is compact and cosy. External door is 3’ (915mm) wide directly into the living room which has a wall mounted gas fire with controls on top.
The kitchenette is compact, limited turning space for wheelchair.
Double bedroom is accessible to one side of the bed (height 23” 585mm) with turning space. Small bedroom comprises a single bed (height 19¼” 490mm), and a fold-down bed. There is room for wheelchair beside single bed, but no turning space. Both are heated by plug-in radiators
Shower room is wheelchair friendly, wheelchair room under wash hand basin, Roll-in shower with one horizontal grab rail. Transfer space between shower and toilet (height 18 ½” 475mm), horizontal grab rail beside toilet.


Blackbird Cottage - 3 Bedroom Cottage

This was built in 2001 to our specification, very roomy. External door is 2’9” (840mm). Oil-fired central heating is in all rooms. The kitchen and living room are very spacious.
Double bedroom (bed height 25” 620mm) and 1 twin bedded room (bed height 24” 610mm) are wheelchair friendly, the third bedroom, twin-bedded (height 22” 550mm) would be a tight squeeze with a wheelchair.
Shower room is wheelchair-friendly, toilet (height 18¼”465mm) and roll-in shower both have horizontal grab rails, 60 degree angle rails and fold down rails. The wash hand basin has access underneath for a wheelchair. There is a pull alarm cord next to the toilet and a separate toilet for non-wheelchair users.


Swallow cottage – 3 bedroomed cottage

This was built in 2006 to our specification, very roomy. External door is 3’ (915mm) Oil-fired central heating is in all rooms. The kitchen and living room are very spacious.
Double bedroom (Superking size) (bed height 23” 585mm) and 2 twin bedded rooms (bed height 24” 610mm) are wheelchair friendly.
Shower room is wheelchair-friendly, toilet (height 18¼”465mm) and roll-in shower both have horizontal grab rails, 60 degree angle rails and fold down rails. The wash hand basin has access underneath for wheelchair and vertical grab rails. The bath has a long rail above the bath on the wall side, with shower above the taps, and a drop down rail between the toilet and bath. There is a pull alarm cord between the bath and toilet and a separate toilet for non-wheelchair users.

Homecare specialists, Able Community Care based in Norwich are offering full-time care support to individuals and families on holiday anywhere in the UK. If you rely on full-time support at home and are not able to take your PA with you, there is now a genuine alternative.

Able Community Care will arrange for a suitable carer or carers either to travel with you from your home, or to meet you at your destination. Accommodation must be available for the carer and early booking is advised to ensure that suitable arrangements can be made in good time.
